Alzheimer's Caring Friends Meeting
October 16, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Main Library
Meets the 3rd Monday of every month.
Dr. Neelum T. Aggarwal, MD
Professor & Neurologist from RUSH Alzheimer’s Disease Center, Chicago will speak virtually on research, trials, medications, diets and caregiving followed by a question and answer period.

Brick Builder's Club
October 17, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm,
Come for an evening of brick building with Lego's® on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.
There is no fee to be in this club.
Builders 5-12 years enjoy themed building challenges each session or can build their own designs. Kids build from 6-6:45 pm and each builder can present his/her design to the club members beginning at 6:45 pm.
Lego® bricks are provided. Please do not bring Lego® bricks or figures from home. Lego designs remain on display for at least 1 week. Call 815-223-0229 ext. 214 to make an initial registration. Walk-ins welcome.

This peer support group is for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and bipolar symptoms in a safe, supportive environment created to listen and learn together to navigate their diagnosis with others doing the same.

Dead People of Illinois with John Lynn

Searching for dead people in all the right places, this "underground" presentation explores hundreds of Illinois cemeteries to find interesting graves and headstones, intriguing opportunities for mortals to not only whistle past the graveyard but to pause and enjoy the oddities of life and death while we're still on the right side of history.

Color Me Calm

Miss coloring? Listen to your inner child and relax. Drop by between 10 and 12 for coloring, coffee and companionship the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month. Coffee, coloring sheets, and colored pens and pencils will be provided. Color Me Calm is held in the library's meeting room on the lower level. This program is for adults only.
Halloween at the Library

This meeting is hosted by Samantha Whiteaker. This free monthly Breastfeeding and Information Support Group welcomes pregnant mothers, babies, and toddlers. While at the library, check out the resources for young children.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

TAG Members:
•Encourage teen involvement in the library, promote and encourage reading by teens
•Take a leadership role in the planning and hosting of teen programs, services, and events
•Advise the Program Librarian on teen interests and trends
•Advise book choice for teens on what they will need for homework and enjoyment
•The Peru Library TAG meets on the last Friday of the month at 3:30. Snacks are provided.

Have a novel or set of poems you've never gotten around to finishing? For anyone over the age of 18, join fellow authors in the downstairs Lower Level Meeting Room to workshop your written work.
