Peru Municipal Building Update Regarding COVID-19

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Peru Municipal Building will be closed to foot traffic until further notice. Clerk's Office hours are 9am-1pm Monday through Friday. Utility bill payments can be made by phone, online at www.peru.il.us or placed in the drop box. No processing fees will be applied. We appreciate your cooperation in preparing for the safety of our residents. The City will continue to take steps to keep residents, staff, and visitors healthy, safe and informed.

K-9 Officer Ryan Kowalczyk started his law enforcement career with the Peru Police Department in September of 2010.

In November of 2017 he was appointed to the position of K-9 Officer, paired with his partner, K-9 Saxon. K-9 Officer Kowalczyk is also a member of the Peru Emergency Response Team, which is a specially trained unit, deployed for high-risk search warrants and other call outs requiring specialized tactical response.

K-9 Officer Kowalczyk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Aurora University where he graduated Cum Laude. He was also a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, while enrolled there.

When not serving the City of Peru, K-9 Officer Kowalczyk enjoys playing golf, gardening and trips to Disneyworld with his family.
