PART-TIME

METER READER/OFFICE CLERK

The City of Peru is accepting applications for a Part-Time Meter Reader/Office Clerk.   Responsibilities include entering residential and commercial utility meter reads into a handheld computer device.  Office Clerk responsibilities will include assisting with collecting utility payments, answering telephone, and utility billing data entry.  This job requires a considerable amount of walking while being outside in various weather elements.  Qualified applicants must possess a valid Illinois drivers license.  

This is a part-time position that includes a pay range of $20.35-$25.25 per hour.  Please complete the online Employment Application located on our website or an application may be obtained at the City Clerk’s office/drive-thru located at the Peru Municipal Building.  The Employment Application along with a resume must be submitted no later than Monday, February 9th.
