For utility customers looking to add renewable generation, the City has a Self-Generation Net Metering Policy.  You can download it at the links provided here.  There you will also find our Net Metering Application our Facilities Interconnection Agreement.

If you are interested in adding solar or wind generation to your property, please fill out the section of the application that is relevant to the size of generation facility you are requesting (20 kW and Smaller or Greater than 20kW to 1MW).

You may submit the application in the following ways:

  1. Email applications to [email protected] and [email protected] 
  2. Drop it off at the Engineering and Zoning section of the Municipal Building (south end)
  3. Mail it to Engineering and Zoning, ATTN: Engingeering & Zoning, 1901 4th St, Peru, IL 61354.

Once all information has been received and the application is approved, the Facilities Interconnection Agreement will be signed by both parties. Once any relevant building permits are issued, work may commence.  Once work is complete, it will be inspected by the Building Inspector and tested by the City of Peru Electric Dept. If it passes, The City of Peru will complete the Certificate of Completion found on the last page of the Net Metering Application and return a copy to the customer.
