The first day candidates may circulate petitions to qualify as a candidate for a City of Peru official position is Tuesday, August 25, 2026 [10 ILCS 5/10-4].
Offices of 1st Ward, 2nd Ward, 3rd Ward and 4th Ward are included in this consolidated election.
Beginning August 25th, election packets can be picked up at the City Clerk's Office between the hours of 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
Completed petitions and supporting documentation must be filed at the office of the Peru City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. November 16, 2024, through November 20th, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 23, 2026.
Multiple filings at 8:00 a.m. on November 16th and 5:00 p.m. on November 23rd for the same office will result in a lottery for ballot position. If necessary, lottery for ballot position will be conducted on November 25th at 9:00 a.m.
