Expands 100% Fiber Network into Peru, Illinois

The City of Peru is excited to announce a partnership with Geneseo Communications Inc. to build a buried 100% fiber-to-premises (FTTP) network, capable of delivering up to 10 Gigabit internet service. This will be a multi-year fiber expansion, with phase one expected to begin this month!

FiberMeFast powered by Geneseo Communications will offer fully symmetrical speeds up to 10 Gigabit per second with unlimited data use. Peru customers will have the option to add streaming TV service as well as have the bandwidth to power multiple devices including home automation technologies.

Geneseo Communication’s construction crews plan to start the initial phase in the area of Marquette and Wenzel Road. To learn more about this project and follow construction progress, visit www.fibermefast.com

Residents located in the Marquette Road-Wenzel Road area (Phase I) will notice numerous utility flags, stakes or painting in the right-of-ways.
