The City of Peru is holding an essential Special Meeting Sunday, March 22^nd at 11:00am. The meeting will be open to the public; however, we are encouraging everyone to attend electronically through the free Zoom Meeting platform. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to all persons concerned that on the 13^th day of April, 2020, at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 1901 4^th Street, Peru, Illinois, the City of Peru will hold a Public Meeting to provide interested persons and businesses with information concerning the City’s Application for grant funding from the Downstate Small Business Stabilization Program (“DSBSP”) made available by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (“DCEO”).

The DSBSP offers small businesses that have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 virus the opportunity to partner with the City to obtain grants of up to $25,000 in working capital. The City of Peru can apply on behalf of eligible businesses with 50 or fewer employees that are located within the City. The application for the DSBSP requires information provided by the City and by the business applying for the program. The DSBSP Guidebook and application forms can be found at: https://www2.illinois.gov/dceo/CommunityServices/CommunityInfrastructure/Pages/DownstateSmBizStabilizaition.aspx

Interested residents are invited to provide comments either at the Public Meeting or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to the Peru City Clerk by email ([email protected]) no later than April 10th to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. 

Due to COVID-19 concerns, remote/electronic participation at the Public Meeting is strongly encouraged. Information concerning how to participate will be made available online at the City of Peru’s website (www.https://www.peru.il.us/). Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities, non-English speaking persons, and others who wish to attend the public meeting and need assistance.
