PISTOL SHRIMP BASEBALL
Veteran's Memorial Park is home to the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp, an amateur wood-bat summer league baseball team! Learn more about the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp on their website: http://www.pistolshrimpbaseball.com/
During Home games, Veteran's Park will be closed to outside food and beverage. The currency used at Pistol Shrimp games will be "Claw Chips" which come in different denominations of $1, $5, and $25. Orange is $1, Blue is $5, and Green is $25. Claw Chips can be purchased via cash, credit, or Apple Pay at the tent located off the main walkway. They can also be purchased at any Streator Onized Credit Union (SOCU) branch starting May 26, 2021 in combinations of $25 or $50. Claw Chips will be needed for all vendors, including concessions with the exception of the merchandise tent which will also accept credit cards.
The concession stand will be open and selling drinks such as water, soda, and sports drinks as well as snacks such as candy, popcorn, pretzels, and nachos. There will be a food vendor and beer garden as well.
Programs are available for a $1 Claw Chip and are 32-pages of history, trivia, and coupons, with detailed excerpts on the players. Each program is numbered, and purchasers have a chance to win a prize if your program number is called.
